The Loop

The Loop

Loneliness and depression are common problems seen in the old age group. With the progressing age, it becomes more difficult to interact with new people and make new connections. Moreover, there is also a general lack of elderly-friendly public spaces. COurban has participated in the competition ‘Huddle’ for the Englischer Garten in Munich, exploring how architecture can be used to propose solutions to cater to the issues of isolation at an old age, and how public places can become more inviting and accessible to the elderly population. Our connection to each other enables us to thrive. So the vision of our proposal – The Loop – is to give a new purpose to visit the park, and for seniors to engage in meaningful, fun and productive activities of their liking, together and across generations.
